In het document ‘Toezichtarrangement Mobiele Communicatie’, uitgegeven door het Agentschap Telecom en het Ministerie van Economische Zaken en Klimaat, kunnen we lezen dat de overheid hoge boetes heft wanneer niet aan de dekkingsverplichting van 98% wordt voldaan. Voor de frequenties die in juli 2020 geveild zijn kunnen deze oplopen tot boven de 300 miljoen per telecombedrijf.

Het Ministerie van Economische Zaken en Klimaat vroeg Stratix in hoeverre er extra antennes geplaatst moeten worden en wat daar de financiële consequenties van zijn. Daarnaast vroeg ze ook in hoeverre de overheid kan helpen om deze kosten te beperken.

Militaire toepassing?

In de uitzending zit een fragment van Ank Beijleveld (minister van Defensie) die bevraagd wordt door Maria van Boekelen van 5GNee.NL en WeAreChange.NL over de Active Denial System toepassing die de 5G technologie ook kan aanwenden bij militaire doeleinden. Van Boekelen vraagt Beijleveld hiernaar maar krijgt geen echt antwoord. Dit is het originele fragment:

Jens Stoltenberg (NATO): impact op alle facetten van de samenleving

Op een NATO-top in 2019 benadrukken 29 lidstaten het belang van het 5G netwerk. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg: ‘de volgende generatie telecommunicatie heeft impact op alle facetten van de samenleving, van transport tot zorg, en ook voor militaire operaties’.
